Pathways Forum #8 Different ways to walk a pathway

Pathway has become a buzzword. It’s even the name of our initiative! But what exactly does it mean? This question was at the heart of Pathways Forum 8.

Featuring Andreas Mayer (BOKU), Adrian Ely (University of Sussex), Bruno Locatelli (CIRAD), Sandra Lavorel (CNRS), and Niki Frantzeskaki (Utrecht University), this webinar invites us to look into four pathways approaches with place-based examples that illustrate opportunities but also barriers and possible workarounds.

There are many ways to walk a pathway, but could Pathways outreach specific frameworks and become an endeavour that convenes multiple actors with diverging views, values, knowledge, and objectives to collectively envision new, alternative, and more desirable futures while, at the same time, encouraging reflection on the actions and conditions needed to get there?

ABOUT THE PATHWAYS FORUM

The Pathways Forum is a bi-monthly online event where researchers from diverse disciplines who engage, or want to engage, with societal actors in processes of adaptive learning to design, implement, and evaluate pathways to sustainability get a chance to reflect on concepts and theories of change, and discuss the practical implications of sustainability science and transdisciplinarity for research practices. Through this webinar series, the Pathways Initiative aims to develop and support agenda-setting, synthesis and capacity building around pathways for sustainability.
