Julia Steinberger, co-author of the 6th IPCC report, highlights the need for scientists to become more engaged in political processes. The unprecedented socio-environmental situation we are facing calls for rethinking a number of paradigms. She therefore argues for the moral responsibility that scientists have to support the citizen groups demanding political accountability and actions commensurate with the climate crisis.
